Inga-Wera-Jane Heymann is an artist and designer based in Berlin, interested in the everyday gestures that shape our lives. Her studio combines elements of functional art and design, producing work that ranges from collectible pieces to practical objects. Each creation is thoughtfully designed to reflect the relationship between people, their environments, and the materials they interact with.

Process

Each lamp is unique and completely handmade.

Their painted structural frames are produced by a local metal workshop, and Heymann hand-weaves these in her studio with Italian cotton thread.

She makes lamps in a variety of styles and sizes, including pendants and table lamps. From a distance, they resemble ancient, angular vases, and they range in depth and height from the relatively shallow “flying saucer” shapes to more elongated lanterns.

'When my lamps are off, they act as sculptural elements, becoming part of the art in your home.

As light fills the room, my lamps shift from art objects to functional highlights, shaping the atmosphere.‘
